2025 CSA Member Agreement
We like to be as clear as possible and make sure all members know what signing up for a Crowfoot Farm CSA entails. This page is required reading for all members and when you sign up you are acknowledging that you have read, agree to, and understand the following member agreement. Please contact us if you have any questions or need clarification.
By signing up for a Crowfoot Farm CSA share I am agreeing to the following terms:
I am investing in a weekly portion of the farm’s harvest in advance and entering into a relationship with Crowfoot Farm for the entirety of the 20-week CSA season.
I understand that by purchasing my share of the farm’s harvest upfront, I am also agreeing to share some of the inherent risk of farming with the farmers and other CSA members. I understand that farming is unpredictable and uncontrollable factors such as weather, pests, disease, etc. all play a role in the successes and failures of each season.
I agree to pay for my share in full by the designated deadline (within 14 days of signing up if paying in full. If paying in thirds, two post-dated checks with the last payment dated June 1st must be included with your deposit check.) **If you are finding the cost of our CSA prohibitive, please reach out to us at emma@crowfootfarmmaine.com to discuss other payment/pricing options. We believe in equitable access to fresh, local food and will work with you to find a plan that we can all agree on.**
I understand it is my responsibility to pick up my share (or find someone to pick it up for me) during the designated day and time frame I signed up for. Friends/family members/neighbors are always welcome to pick up my share in my place. If my share is not collected I understand that I forfeit my share that week and it will be donated. **We understand that life happens. If there are extenuating circumstances please let us know and we can talk about alternative options.**
I understand that while my share is Free-Choice, there may, at times, be quantity limits on certain vegetables. Limits on specialty crops exist to provide equal opportunity for all CSA members to enjoy certain items. Limits are typically only in place for a week or two until the crop is producing in full.
If I need to cancel my share, I must email emma@crowfootfarmmaine.com ASAP. I understand that all cancellations are subject to a $75 cancellation fee and refunds will be prorated.
In return, Crowfoot Farm promises to provide members and their families with first pick of the freshest veggies and herbs our fields have to offer. Members also receive a weekly newsletter/CSA reminder ahead of their pick up day that contains the weeks’ harvest list, recipes and tips for how to use/store thier produce, as well as some notes from the field to keep them in the loop with farm happenings. We are committed to maintaining our MOFGA Organic Certification and will never use any non-organic pesticides, fertilizers, or other inputs on our farm. We use safe handling procedures when harvesting, washing, and packing all produce to ensure the health and safety of our members. We are honored to feed you and value the trust you have put in us to do so! Thank you for your support and for believing in small, local agriculture!
